Terms & Conditions

The terms governing consignment with Equi Consignment Ireland — written in plain English so both consignor and purchaser know exactly where they stand.

01

Data Protection (GDPR)

Equi Consignment Ireland (ECI) advertises consigned items using social media platforms and online services. In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), ECI will only use personal data necessary for tracing the ownership of the consigned items.

Individual data will not be shared with third parties or anyone else for unrelated marketing purposes. By signing this agreement, the consignor consents to the use of images and descriptions of their items for advertising purposes.

02

Commission & Pricing

ECI operates on a commission basis, taking 20% of the final sale price.

All items will be advertised at full price for 12 months. If an item remains unsold after 12 months, a 25% price reduction will be applied for a further six months. If still not sold, a further 25% reduction will be applied to the price label.

Contracts for unsold items will be terminated after 24 months. The consignor then has the option to re-consign, retrieve the item from ECI, or have it donated to charity.

03

Card Transactions

A card processing fee of approximately 1.5% is included in the listed sale price and shared between ECI and the consignor (50/50). This keeps checkout simple for the purchaser — no surprise surcharges — and means neither party absorbs the full cost of card payments.

04

Item Retrieval

Consignors wishing to collect their items before the end of the 24-month period are welcome to do so. ECI requires an advanced notice of 7 days. No same day retrievals will be accepted.

Items can also be returned by post. The consignor is responsible for all postage costs associated with the products return.

05

Consignment Tracking

ECI will record the start and end dates of each consignment period but will not issue reminders regarding the end of the 24-month term. Consignors are advised to keep personal records of their consignment dates.

06

Item Acceptance

An initial quality assessment will be made before the consigned items are priced and advertised accordingly using ECI sales platforms. If the consignor wishes to be present during the assessment, an advanced appointment must be made with ECI.

07

Items Not Accepted

Items that are damaged, marked or in any other condition that renders them as unsaleable will not be accepted into a sales contract.

In the event of this, the consignor may arrange for the collection of items at their own expense. ECI is not held responsible for the care of items. Any items deemed unsellable by ECI that do not have a collection date arranged after 7 days of being dropped off will be donated to charity.

08

Returns Policy

ECI adopts a ZERO returns policy and under absolutely no condition can items be returned. ECI Terms and Conditions make it very clear that any consigned items are sold as 'seen and approved' by the purchaser.

If a purchaser is not happy with their purchase, they may create a new contract for them to consign the item with ECI, who would be happy to resell the product on their behalf.

The only exception to this rule is the purchase of saddles — see below.

09

Purchasing a Saddle from ECI

ECI is not trading as a registered saddle fitting company. If there is a saddle that a client would like to purchase, ECI strongly recommends getting the saddle checked by a professional, qualified saddle fitter.

Every saddle is sold with a 100% 14 day return policy. The purchaser will then have 14 days to arrange external appointments for checks with relevant saddle fitters, coaches or trainers. If for any reason the saddle is not suitable, the purchaser will have 14 days to return the saddle in the same condition it left ECI. After the 14 days trial period the deposit is no longer refundable.

The 100% deposit given by the purchaser will be held by ECI for the two week probation period. If the sale is successful, the funds will then be released to the consignor. If the sale is unsuccessful then the saddle will resume its consignment contract and be back in the possession of ECI.

If returning the saddle, it has to be returned to ECI in the same condition it left with no defects or damage. ECI has the right to refuse refunds on saddles that return with excess marks and damage which has occurred during the purchaser's two week trial.

10

Pricing & Disposal

All determinations regarding the acceptability of items are made at ECI's sole discretion. The consignor acknowledges and accepts that ECI will determine pricing for all consigned items accordingly, based on condition, brand and marketability.

The only exception is if the consignor has requested a specific price for a particular item, which will be discussed and agreed at consignment.

11

Rugs — Cleaning & Inspection

Every rug listed by ECI has been professionally washed and, where required, re-proofed before sale.

Each rug is inspected for tears, rips, broken surcingles, chafed bindings and breakages of any materials or fittings. Any faults are stated clearly in the listing description and photographed appropriately so the purchaser can make an informed decision.

12

Delivery, Postage & Customs

ECI ships nationwide across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland via tracked courier. Postage costs depend on the size and weight of the item and are calculated at checkout. Most orders are dispatched within 2 working days.

UK and international shipping is available by quote. For deliveries outside the island of Ireland, the purchaser is responsible for any customs duties, taxes or charges levied by the destination country. Please contact ECI for a delivery quote before purchase.

Collection from our base at Barnadown Showjumping, Gorey, Co. Wexford is welcome by prior arrangement.

13

Payment to Consignors

Once an item has sold and the purchaser's return window (where applicable, e.g. saddles) has closed, consignor funds — net of ECI's 20% commission — are released at the end of the following working week.

This short clearing period allows ECI to confirm that the purchaser is satisfied with the item and protects both parties in the unlikely event of a quality dispute.

14

Indemnification & Liability

By signing this agreement, the consignor agrees that Equi Consignment Ireland (ECI) shall not be held liable for loss, theft, or damage of items placed on consignment, howsoever caused.

No claims may be made against ECI, its employees, representatives, or affiliates. The consignor accepts full responsibility and risk for all items consigned.

ECI note · Signing the consignment form (in person or via the digital agreement at drop-off) confirms acceptance of all terms above.
